Teaching
I consider myself a passionate and dedicated teacher who tries to create active learning experiences for my students. Beyond just mere "knowledge acquisition", my classes (hopefully!) encourage students to engage with historical, philosophical, and cultural issues and debates in a critical and self-reflective manner. My interdisciplinary academic background has given me the opportunity to teach courses in a variety of fields - American History, Film Studies, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, and Global Studies. I am currently a lecturer in the Liberal Arts department at the Kansas City Art Institute. Previously, I have taught at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.
